I've been through 8 years of marriage and a I have a 3-year-old... and there is no hell like your first escrow. My condolences sir, though congratulations on the purchase!

Bummer on the CF card. I hate it when I do that. And $32 for 256 MB is not fleecing, its rape. Ouch man.

Ok fixed, sorry MP. Thanks to subscriber jerrodh, who noted that adding "clear: both" to the CSS for div.post-footer would solve the problem. So it did! FYI, other photo wordpressers.

So, this thing arrives yesterday, I randomly decide to plug it in and turn on the autobackup feature. It just so happens that it backs up my photo folders. I get home from work today to find... catastrophic windows meltdown!!! Fortunately it appears that all ~100GB of photos are safe... whew!

That's why I bought the thing, I realized I had stopped backing stuff up when my photos exceeded my puny ancient 20GB external (pretty hefty for when I got it). I did not however realize that such a quantum hiccup of computing fate was just around the corner.

I lucked out... don't trust that you will too. Back up your drive, NOW.

Thanks John, for the feedback. You're right, the detail on the dress was something I was chasing all day... but there never was time to really experiment to get the exposure right. A slight underexposure with some bounce flash from above on the face probably would have done the trick as you say, though one would have to be careful to not fill-flash out the dress again in the process. Something to try next time for sure!

MegaPixie, I don't mind at all! The custom picture style I used was sharpness 7, contrast +1, saturation +2, color tone neutral. Yes nearly all of the photos were post-processed. Cropping, sharpening, highlight/midtone/shadow adjust, and the rare noise removal were the main mods.

Thank you both for subscribing and commenting! I appreciate the feedback and questions.

The flower shot is beautiful! Question: if you don't mind revealing your methods, what settings did you have for your User Defined picture mode on the XTi? And were these post-processed in anyway? Thanks!
